Washington Crossing Application Fee and Holding Deposit
What you are paying for by applying.
$50 - This is the industry standard rate to run a credit report and background check on all prospective tenants. The applicant will pay directly to a third-party screening company. You will receive an electronic invitation after you apply.
$500 - This is the holding deposit to secure your new place. We will refund you if the application is not approved or you decide to cancel within 2 days. Once your application is approved, the Holding Deposit will be applied toward the balance owed at move-in. The Holding Deposit will be refunded if either (a) your Application is not approved, (b) the apartment is not available on the Lease Commencement Date, or (c) you cancel your Application within 2 days of the original Application date. Payments will be refunded within 48 hours of notification of cancellation. Refunds issued as a check will be mailed to the address shown on your Application. You will forfeit the Holding Deposit if (a) you fail to complete and return to the Leasing Office all forms related to your Application within 2 days of the date of your Application, or (b) you cancel your Application more than 2 days after the date of your Application.
